"Paul has been a Labour councillor in Fant Ward since 2014, and was re-elected in 2018.

Full statement

He is Head of Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee at Maidstone Borough Council where he is on the Policy and Resources, Employment and Urgency committees.

Paul is also 2018 Treasurer of Maidstone and The Weald Constituency Labour Party.

Since 2014 Paul has:
1. Successfully Campaigned to prevent Roseholme Playground being closed
2. Fought to stop overdevelopment of Fant
3. Successfully stopped the development of houses behind Preedy's, next to Orchard Place
4. Successfully stopped McDonalds becoming 24 x 7 at the expense of residents of Broadway Heights
5. Successfully stopped the Jubilee School becoming 2 Form Entry, it can work as a 1 Form Entry School
6. Worked to get the Medway Towpath upgraded to a new foot and cycle path, a great place to go for Fant people
7. Green Transport Strategy
8. Led the campaign to restore Community Access to Oakwood Park Playing Fields
9. Continuing to campaigning for 20mph across Fant
10. Opposed the development of Fant Farm, working with Save Fant Farm
11. Campaigned to get Flood protection for the Hart Street Flats
12. Had street signs and name plates replaced where damaged or stolen
13. Successfully ensured new Londis Shop at the end of Milton Street had opening hours suitable for a residential area
14. Got the Yellow Lines in Gatland Lane amended from Double Yellow lines to single yellow lines on only Monday to Friday 8-10 and 2-5 as requested by residents
15. Cooked at the Fant Wildlife BBQ!
16. Cleared alleyways along Mansfield Walk and from Roseholme to Upper Fant Road
17. Set up the Oakwood Park Community Group
18. Set up the Maidstone Cycle Campaign Forum
19. Campaigned against The Bedroom Tax
20. Campaigned for the Accredited Living Wage"
