Statement to voters

I am a local business owner, a former Sussex Police Officer and hard-working Rother District Councillor.

Full statement

I know this constituency well. From working in my parent’s shop in Sidley High Street as a kid, to running a B&B on Bexhill seafront with my late husband, Tony. This is my home and I am ready for the chance to show folks in Westminster what being from Bexhill and Battle is all about.

After 14 years of Conservative failures in government, many voters are considering voting Labour, some for the first time in a long time.

Under Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership, the changed Labour Party is ready to govern and improve things for ordinary people. I am really proud to be standing for Labour at this election with a realistic and achieveable set of priorities that will make a difference to our communities across the Bexhill and Battle constituency.

Labour can win here, all I need is your support. I promise I will not let you down.

My three priorities for Bexhill and Battle:

Better public services – from public transport and the NHS, to school and nursery provision. I will continue my proven track record of protecting, supporting and improving local public services.

Cleaner, cheaper energy – Renewable, community-led energy generation to bring down prices. I will advocate for our rural, coastal constituency to benefit from Labour’s new GB Energy company.

More jobs for local people – Quality, well-paid jobs to improve the local economy. I will encourage new industry to bring in new jobs, particularly for young people.
