Statement to voters

Ian has lived in Yarnton with his wife Fiona for nearly 30 years.

Full statement

He's worked most of his life in retail and is now an ethical entrepreneur, business writer and retail analyst. He was elected to Cherwell District Council in 2019 as their first ever green councillor and to Oxfordshire County Council in 2021. he also sits on three parish councils: Kidlington, Gosford and Water Eaton, and Yarnton.

Ian has campaigned on local flooding protection, road conditions, cycling infrastructure and local health service provision. He has been a fierce campaigner against the district council's plans to build on green belt in and around Kidlington, Begbroke and Yarnton, and since being elected has held the council and landowners to account on these plans numerous times. He also campaigns on affordable housing provision and animal protection issues.

This statement was added by Ian Middleton, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
