Statement to voters

Zack Ali got married in 2009 and made Crawley his home.

Since then, he has been a resident of Broadfield. Zack is a proud father of two young boys, both of whom went to Hilltop Primary School in Southgate. He has received an honours degree in Business management and finance from University of Surrey.

In 2007 he worked for Domino’s Pizza and quickly ended up managing several stores across Sussex and Surrey. He was based at the store on Crawley High Street and led a team of store managers from across the region and was responsible for more than 200 staff. The Crawley store became one of the top 10 performing stores worldwide, whilst under Zack’s leadership. He went on to start his own business, this grew it to the point where it employed over 50 people and served thousands of customers every year.

Zack was elected to Crawley Borough Council and West Sussex County Council in 2021, representing Southgate and Gossops Green division of Crawley. He has sat on several committees and is a member of the shadow cabinet for Planning and Economic development on Crawley Borough Council.

He has been actively involved in Crawley politics since 2007, having worked alongside Henry Smith MP on various local issues and campaigns. Zack has also played a key role in several general election campaigns supporting Henry Smith MP to win the Crawley seat.

He has worked with a number local and national charities in support of a range charitable causes and issues. Including during the pandemic, where he gathered several likeminded people to set up a group to support vulnerable local residents. This group did grocery and food shopping for shielding families, vulnerable households and those on low incomes.

Zack also joined the NHS Volunteer Responders and helped local communities across Crawley to stay safe and feel supported. Taking part in activities such as welfare phone calls with residents living alone and dropping of medication and care packages.
