Statement to voters
Thorsten Altenkirch gained his PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He joined the University of Nottingham in 2000, taking up the role of Professor of Computer Science in 2017.
Moving to the Nottingham area when he joined the university, Thorsten has lived in Mansfield since 2013.
Thorsten says “I believe that Mansfield has a lot of potential that can be unleashed by more progressive policies; taking care of environment and creating a more inclusive society that works for everyone.”
