Having grown up in the rolling Devon Hills, upon leaving school I worked with native ponies initially.

Full statement

After coming to the conclusion that 12 hour days and 7 day weeks maybe weren’t for the long term I moved into a more professional career.

After moving into Financial Services and qualifying as a Financial Advisor I fell into recruitment with a compliance and audit consultancy, and recruitment has been my mainstay for 20 years now. I get huge enjoyment from helping people with their career development, and seeing them grow. I started my own recruitment business in 2014 and I specialise within Environmental Consultancy and Engineering Design. It’s an area that challenges me to learn daily and keeps me on my toes.

With my home hat on, I’m a Mum to an inspiring 13 year old, Step Mum to a creative 14 year old, and wife to my wonderful husband who supports me in everything I do, even adopting a pair of very cheeky (if a little naughty) rescue terriers! We live in Prestwood and I love nothing more than getting out into the hills at the weekends in an attempt to tire the dogs out... (fat chance).

I’m passionate about people, and the environment. This year (2021) I received my regular Green Party email to advise that there wasn’t a Green candidate standing in my area in the council elections, and so I thought, it’s probably not just me who is sad about this, so with the support of the amazing Chiltern Group of the Green Party, decided to stand. I’m so glad I made this choice. 1037 other people also clearly wanted a Green voice here in Great Missenden and Prestwood. The Green Party coming second in the Unitary Authority elections made that loud and clear!

I’m very proud to have been voted onto the Great Missenden Parish Council for Prestwood and Heath End Ward, and look forward to working with a great team of councillors there, focussing on what is important to residents, and also ensuring that I can support environmental and social projects to benefit the community. I also run a local Environmental group, helping to educate local residents, and share ideas to make our live more sustainable, mitigating what is within our control in regard to Climate Change.

I look forward to the next Council Elections, and joining at Unitary Authority level next time, to be another Green voice, holding Buckinghamshire Council accountable for policy and decisions. I’m keen to bring about accountability, ensuring that decisions are not based on social issued, the economy, or the environment. These areas are not interdependent, and should be balanced together in all decisions.
