Statement to voters

Hello everyone! I'm Paul McCord the Lydiate and Maghull Community independents candidate for Park Ward.

Full statement

I have lived in Lydiate and Maghull since 2009 and actually live in Park Ward itself so hope to be elected to represent them.

I am also a Parish Councillor for Lydiate Parish Council which is within Park Ward. Out of the 9 councillors, 8 are community independents.

There are many issues which concern me in the ward which is why I wish to stand to try to help our community. The main issue at the moment is the potential of building houses on farmland adjacent to Lambshear Lane which I am vehemently against.

The beauty of being a local independent is that you can fight for the local area and its community without being held back by a national party who wants you to do their bidding.

I am a traditional socialist and trade unionist who believes it is the working class who creates the wealth in this country and therefore be the recipients of that wealth.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading my profile, and if you live in Park Ward, that I can count on your vote come May 2nd.

Solidarity.

Paul.
