John Cave Austen's policies

Statement to voters

Coming from a working class family in South London, it was Conservative values of aspiration and self-determination that first brought me into the Party.

Full statement

After a successful career in business-to-business publishing and marketing, I still believe in those things. It is the idea of small government, not more, lower taxes, decent education, and a fair chance for all, that keeps me there.

Having lived in nearby Hawkhurst for nearly 30 years, I have grown to love our corner of the Garden of England, and while there is much that should be preserved, and much to be guarded against, such as inappropriate and over development, there is always room for improvement. I will not make any promises that I cannot keep, however, it is my intention to be a voice for the community in which we all live.
