Local teacher, Cllr Matthew Fido , is seeking re-election to continue as your local councillor.

I have been proud to serve the Moorland community in City Hall for the last 3 years. As a teacher at a local secondary school, I have worked closely with young people, their families, and the wider community, putting them at the forefront of all I do. I have collaborated with local groups and churches to assist families during the cost-of-living crisis, organising collections and distributing food parcels to families in need. Through committee work, I have contributed towards the council’s communication about cost-of-living support to families most in need.

I am an advocate for our local environment. Lincoln is fortunate to be blessed with many green spaces and waterways running through the city. It is important that everyone does their bit to look after the environment we live in so we can all be proud of our community. I regularly report issues around fly-tipping and dog fouling to keep our community looking pretty and feeling safe. This is on top of reporting potholes and broken streetlights to the County Council. Lincoln is an ever-growing city, and thus needs infrastructure investment to help keep growth sustainable. I am proud to have been part of the Conservative administration on the County Council that has delivered the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. Conservative councillors are also working together to address issues such as anti-social behavior and the impacts of the Western Growth Corridor development.

By re-electing me, Matthew Fido, in May, you will be getting a dynamic councillor representing our community in City Hall, making sure everyone’s voice is heard, not just another Labour councillor who nods through decisions like cancelling our Christmas Market.
