Party manifesto
Richard Maxwell was the Liberal Democrats candidate. Find out more about their policies in the Liberal Democrats manifesto.
Statement to voters
Working within the construction industry Richard understands how important good planning is to deliver good results and is angered by the failure that is evident around Wolverhampton.
Inspired to work in politics from his time within charities Richard sees people power as the most important thing within a community and will work with local people on issues that are important to them.
Richard thinks that hospitals are central to the health service and is angry with the problems that have been exposed by Wolverhampton Lib Dems at New Cross because of a lack of funding, Richard said
"It is unacceptable that our hospitals are kicking out older people in the middle of the night and the rise of avoidable mistakes because of cuts in NHS funding.
"As you MP I would ensure that the NHS gets all the funding it needs to protect the most vulnerable in society starting with the £11.4bn promised this week by the Lib Dems.
"I will make sure that the people of Wolverhampton have the health treatment that they deserve protecting the most vulnerable in the city. I will also ensure that mental health is treated the same as physical health so everyone from the police to high school students can get the help they need when they need it"
