Statement to voters

Thank you for reading. My name is Jessie and I just want to tell you why I want to represent you in local council.

For many years of my life I moved from country to country always seeing myself as “the foreigner” but today I am a British citizen and call Hammersmith my home.

I believe that being a citizen is an honour and a responsibility: a responsibility to listen up, speak up and step up.

I’ve recently discovered that my ancestors were global-trotters and, as a result, there is a bit of each place in the world in me, just like there is a bit of each place in our ward.

My goal is to promote community events so we can all learn more about and from our neighbours.

In politics we often define ourselves by that which divide us and forget we that we have more in common that we think. Let’s discover what we share.
