Lee grew up locally and attended Brixington Free Church Nursery, followed by Brixington Infants, Brixington Juniors and Exmouth Community College before attending University.
Lee has deep family ties to the area. His father had a long military career before finishing as a civilian at CTCRM Lympstone. His mother worked in futher education at Exmouth Community College.
Lee's brother went to the forerunner of the deaf academy. Growing up in a bilingual household meant that Lee learnt BSL, something he now uses working with young disabled people.
Upon selection, Lee said: "I care deeply for Exmouth and Brixington, and is a great privilege to stand to be a local Councillor in the area that I grew up in."
