The Leeds City Local council elections take place on the 5th of May 2022 and I am the Yorkshire Party candidate.

⚫ Another year of mismanaged council services and complete mismanagement of finances mean that it is imperative that Labour no longer have control of Leeds City Council. ⚫ The past 12 months have resulted in poorer local services and increased council tax bills for the citizens of Leeds and it is clear that we can no longer afford to have Labour at the helm. ⚫ Labour will cite reduced government funding and yet will still find near £11m for their 2023 cultural event whilst ensuring that care homes and community facilities are closed including Home Lea in Rothwell and the block voting by Labour which rendered the Sugar Hill Estate residents, homeless was just a disgrace on every level. Elderly and vulnerable people consigned to uncertainty and a community destroyed. ⚫ The Labour candidate callously alluded to possible measures to attempt to prevent this, but in truth, this was false. The Conservative candidate did not even bother campaigning here last year and relied on votes secured against a then national bounce for his party. This is not the case this year and the Conservatives do not deserve your votes here. The Lib Dem candidate is a sitting councillor and to be fair and honest, he has raised many issues of community concern and tabled votes that have unfortunately, due to the Labour majority on council, not succeeded in securing the necessary objectives. The Green Party candidate is also standing although I do believe that the Yorkshire Party and I can effectively address relevant green issues that affect residents in Leeds. ⚫ So why vote for me? I have over 35 years experience working at the sharp end of both policing and also council services which give me the advantage of an in-depth knowledge of the services that we all rely on. I understand the reasons why Leeds is failed by its woeful services and I can address these directly. I will be open , accountable and I will also not take a single penny from the public purse whilst I discharge my duties. ⚫ What ever happens, for the betterment of Leeds and it's residents, it is vital that Labour do not control the council.
