Statement to voters

Kefentse Dennis is standing for Perry Barr with a commitment to advocating for social justice.

Full statement

He believes that the voices of people in places like Aston, Lozells and Handsworth should be heard, and they should be given the opportunity to vote for investment in people and the planet, including where they live.

As your candidate, Kefentse will highlight such pressing issues as housing, air quality, and green spaces. If elected, Kefentse will utilise his qualifications in environmentalism in order to work towards a greener future, focusing on the local economy, public transportation, and community engagement.

Kefentse has experience working with trade unions and has chaired the internal Green Party group “Greens of Colour”. He has campaigned for policies including: calling for an immediate end to violence in Gaza and Israel, support for Palestinian rights and recognition of a Palestinian state; as well as the introduction of a Universal Basic Income; a wealth tax to fund the social investment we desperately need; a retrofit revolution; building more social housing, with rent controls for private housing; and a commitment that all new builds must meet environmental standards.
