Statement to voters
Matthew is a qualified accountant working for a Kent based company and first moved to Gravesham in 1999.
He is a strong believer in tax reform, particularly an increase in the basic-rate threshold to 20k, and an increase in the VAT registration threshold to 120k. Both these thresholds obstruct business growth.
Meanwhile he is an advocate of local infrastructure projects such as schools, hospitals, housing and transport, as these can only stimulate the local economy.
Finally, he believes that major manufacturing and public utility services should be British owned and should pay appropriate British taxation.
