Statement to voters

I'm Stuart.

Full statement

I live in the ward with my wife and 2 children.

Party politics has failed us. The Council doesn’t listen. I’m fed up. I know you are too. Let's flip the tables.

I’m not standing in pursuit of a personal political career. I’m afraid you won’t find me in photos pointing at potholes. It’s not my style. I’m sleeves up, work hard, and help others to achieve their ambitions.

I’ve been working with communities all my life. I’ve spent 20 years in the voluntary sector and have amassed the experience and skills required to bring people together and empower them to enable change. That's what we need right now.

I've set out pledges: 1. Your voice on the council - setting up a system where residents can have a real say in key council votes and debates. 2. Donate my £40,000 allowance - funding your ideas and projects, with residents deciding how and where the money is spent 3. Speak up for a ceasefire in Gaza - giving a voice to all those demanding action from our government and representatives 4, Demand more funding from government - relentlessly fight for increased North Tyneside specific grants to properly fund local services. 5. Call for a North Tyneside People’s Assembly - giving residents a meaningful involvement in future council tax planning and spending.
