Alasdair Ross was first elected as a councillor for Rushmere Ward in 2008, he is now a member of the Executive of the council, holding the portfolio for Public Protection.

Alasdair and his family live in Rushmere Ward and he works in a local school. He returned to his hometown of Ipswich IN 2002, after spending 25 years in the British army.

Outside helping Rushmere residents, his other big passion is highlighting issues concerning our Armed Forces Veterans. Nationally he is a key member of ‘Labour Friends of the Forces’. He is also a sports fanatic and a season ticket holder at Ipswich Town!
