Statement to voters

This election is a choice about Brexit.

Full statement

As a Former Chief Executive of Jaguar and Business Leader I know how to create and protect British businesses and jobs.

Simply put, you can’t trust the Tories on Brexit, we remember how Tory Ministers have broken their promise to invest £350million into our NHS, at a time when the NHS needs all the support it can get. I believe we must carry out the wishes of the people.

However, I do not support the right-wing Brexit promoted by the Tories. I support a Brexit that commits to protecting employment rights, protecting your holiday entitlement, protecting maternity and paternity rights and protects jobs and wages in Coventry.

If you vote for any other party other than Labour, you are putting these hard-won rights at risk.

I know many people voted to leave the EU because of immigration. I agree that there needs to be much tighter controls on immigration to ensure that wages are not undercut by unscrupulous employers looking to take advantage of cheap labour, and Labour will take action to stop these practices.

I want to be the voice for the people of Coventry North West, not for Westminster, the election here is too close to call and I hope you vote to return me as your Member of Parliament on Thursday 8th June.

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Robinson
