Statement to voters

I am proud to have been selected as the Labour candidate for Glasgow North East, an area I have lived and worked in my whole life.

Full statement

I left school at 16 to work in a factory to help support my family financially.

After starting my family, I returned to college as an Adult Learner to gain qualifications and job prospects. I was honoured to be elected to represent the North East Ward in Glasgow City Council in 2012, and continue to represent my constituents every day.

Outwith of politics I love to spend time with my grandchildren, reading (particularly local authors), and yoga.

This statement was added by Maureen Burke, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
