Statement to voters
I'm the Labour candidate for Cardiff West, standing for re-election having served as an MP for my constituency since 2001.
Full statement
I have worked hard to represent my constituents over the last 18 years, running regular advice surgeries, standing up for working people against
powerful influences and voting to protect our public services. I served as a Minister in the last Labour Government and most recently as Shadow Minister for Culture.
I have consistently supported remaining in the European Union, including voting against triggering Article 50. I believe that the current government's approach will lead to a very hard Brexit, be bad for jobs and workers' rights and undermine the peace process in Northern Ireland.
