About Ian Lavery

Ian Lavery is a British Labour Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wansbeck from 2010 until 2024. He served as the Chair of the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn from 2017 to 2020 and was President of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) from 2002 to 2010. He is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group parliamentary caucus.
