Statement to voters
Over the last four and a half years it has been a privilege to represent the people of Penistone and Stocksbridge in Parliament, to make your voice heard on a whole range of issues, whether that’s supporting the steel industry, campaigning to keep our children safe, protecting single sex spaces, calling for action to lower immigration, or lobbying the Government for better transport, better jobs, and more investment.

And we’re making great progress on a number of local projects, delivering the Town Deal in Stocksbridge, improving the rail network around Penistone and a whole range of local campaigns across our wonderful towns and villages.
On July 4th we will have a General Election, and in Penistone and Stocksbridge you have a choice. You can choose a Labour candidate to be your representative, or you can vote for me, Miriam Cates, to continue to speak up for you boldly and courageously, and to continue with the great work we’re doing locally.
