Statement to voters
I was born into a socialist family.
Full statement
My father was a South Wales miner, who left school on his fourteenth birthday and went down the pit the following day. He moved to Stevenage in 1948.
I have lived in Stevenage all my life, and for the last 25 years have lived in St Nicholas. I am proud to be a resident of the estate and the town with many cultures, and people from across the country and the world.
I feel that Stevenage has given me much opportunity and we have a great community here in St Nicholas.
The Labour council is all encompassing and is true to the Labour values. I would be extremely proud if elected to become a councillor to represent the residents of this ward and the town.
