Statement to voters
SO WHY AM I STANDING TO BE A COUNCILLOR:- It has been a real pleasure and also a challenge to have represented All Saints & Woodloes for the past 12 years as one of your Warwick District and Town Councilor.
Full statement
This is an part of Warwick I have known all my life having watched the Woodloes being developed as a child, to attending Aylesford School, being confirmed at the old All Saints church to getting married at St Mary’s!
Over the past 12 years I have worked hard to support and help this wonderful community, whether it's been a missed bin collection, a blocked pathway, supporting local groups with funding applications plus helping the team with our monthly surgeries.
As a member of the Cabinet, I have been able to ensure that this Ward and Warwick are always part of any major decisions, especially concerning improved transport links and tourism. I am also very proud to have been responsible for the new 123 Refuse Collection across Warwick District. No longer having to sort our recycling has been welcomed by everyone, especially in this ward and increased recycling rates for the whole District. On the town council I have made sure that our community is always well represented. Helping support funding for local community groups such as our numerous Scout groups, encouraging warm hubs at both All Saints church and The Gap; plus ensuring that money is available to help with the Folk Festival, Victorian Evening and the Town Bonfire! I am also an active member of All Saints church having been elected to the Parochial Church Council allowing me to reach out to all areas of the community, particularly the outreach work to local families.
It's been exhausting and frustrating at times, but incredibly rewarding. This is why I still feel I have more to offer, so I will be standing for re-election on May 4th can I count on your support?
