James is a physicist by training and is currently an engineering lead working at Rolls-Royce. He is a Unite union rep and union equalities officer. He has a young family and his two year-old son attends nursery in the ward. He has been Focus team lead in Wilsthorpe for the last four years and has campaigned on many local issues including sewage discharges into the Golden Brook. He says: “I believe it is important that councillors are out there on the streets finding and fixing people’s issues.”
