Statement to voters

I am Fareham born and raised, and have always loved Fareham.

Full statement

In 2016 I moved into the Uplands Estate.

I’m a retired Police Officer having served with Hampshire Constabulary in the Portsmouth area for 32 years. During that service I established the first Domestic Violence Unit in Hampshire. I specialised in really sensitive subjects consisting of Child Abuse, all Sexual Offences from birth to death, Paedophiles, Rape cases, Human Trafficking, Cot Death and Family Liaison Officer.

In 2018 I spearheaded a group of residents against Network Rail. They had intention of destroying all trees and vegetation which would include the displacement of wildlife and the eco corridor. It was an arduous task against a huge company. After several months we succeeded and saved two thirds of trees.

Last year, I had the success of coming 2nd in the local elections, which has made me more determined to continue standing as a candidate this year.

SOME OF WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO:

PIP (Personal Independence Payment): As I am registered Disabled, some residents approached me when they needed to apply for financial help with PIP. I have helped several people with this complex application.

Covid Chair Bags: A local school reached out asking for people to make chair bags to minimise the risk of Covid to the children. I was happy to be in the position to help the school, and I turned my home into a production line, making a total of bags, which the children loved. It was hard work, but very rewarding.

Domestic Abuse Group: Because of Covid and Lockdowns there was an increase on reported Domestic Abuse which sadly can happen to anyone of us. As a result, I set up a Private Facebook Group allowing people to reach out for a listening ear. If you are one of these people, please feel free to Private Message me.
