Statement to voters

I have lived in Oxfordshire for most of my adult life.

Full statement

I now live with my family in the Otmoor division, where I am heavily involved in the local community including as chairman of the governors at our local primary school. I am also a volunteer junior rugby coach. During the pandemic, I helped set up and administered a fund to support those negatively affected by COVID.
My professional experience is in public policy making. For 13 years, I was a civil servant, working for the Treasury, Foreign Office, Department for International Development and Cabinet Office in London. Since 2012, I have held a senior leadership role at Oxford University, where I have helped to establish the Blavatnik School of Government.
I am a keen cyclist, runner and walker, and am passionate about responding to the climate emergency and protecting our environment. Working in education and volunteering with young people, I want to ensure that every young person has the best start in life. As a community activist, I firmly believe that decisions are often best made at local levels and that, by listening respectfully and committing to find solutions, we can make things better together.
