Statement to voters

Hello! I'm standing to be your Green councillor in St Paul's ward.

Full statement

We came a close 2nd place in the May 2021 local elections - beating both Labour and the Conservatives - and we've been working hard all year since.

It's a two horse race between me and the Lib Dems this time, and with your help we can do it in 2022!

St Pauls has been taken for granted by the Lib Dems for more than two decades now and deserves better representation on the council. There are particular concerns about traffic, safety and street maintenance, as well as a clear need for better public transport, better housing provision, and improved facilities for older people. There's also the issue that, caught between the middle of town and the university campus, the needs of both students and long-term residents are often overlooked.

Being familiar with the area for many years, I'd like to help to address these problems. We are particularly pushing the council on safer streets, and over 250 St Pauls residents have signed our petition for crossings on St Pauls Road.

Since moving to Cheltenham in 2017, I've worked in External Liaisons for Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees, and at the weekly hub with people seeking asylum. I've been a committee member with the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Cycling Campaign to campaign for better road planning and active travel links across town. My background is in customer services, so I always want to try to tackle problems head-on and make positive progress.

I'm also helping to develop the Young Greens group and carry out public outreach activities to local groups and schools. If you'd like me to come to speak about our work or local climate action, please shoot me a message!

It's time for change in Cheltenham. I really look forward to seeing you out and about around St Pauls, and if you want to contact me you can reach me by email or on Twitter:
