Cllr Sam Akhtar has served as the representative for Charvil since 2021 and is now seeking election in the newly established Thames Ward, encompassing Charvil, Sonning, Wargrave, and Remenham.

At 33 years old, Sam is among the youngest councillors in the borough. If elected, he is determined to keep up the fight to maintain Thames Ward's cleanliness by combating littering and graffiti. Having resided in the ward since the age of 7, Sam eagerly anticipates extending his assistance to more residents throughout Thames Ward. Beyond his commitments to litter clearance and graffiti eradication, Sam is passionate about being a powerful voice for his ward, addressing concerns such as overdevelopment, antisocial behaviour, and ensuring adequate school provision for the next generation of residents.
