Mayor of Greater Manchester Combined Authority by-election

This election will be held on Thursday 30 July 2026.

This by-election was called because the elected member was elected Member of the UK Parliament, and cannot hold both positions.

    The Mayor of Greater Manchester helps direct the overall strategy of the ten councils which make up the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. The Mayor oversees police and fire services, and has other responsibilities in areas such as transport, housing, business, and skills.

You will have two votes, and can choose from seven candidates in the Greater Manchester mayoral election.

    This election uses Supplementary Vote.

    Mark an X in the first column for your first choice. Mark an X in the second column for your second choice. You do not have to mark a second choice.

    Read the instructions at the top of your ballot paper carefully.

    It will be open from 7a.m. to 10p.m. on Thursday 30 July 2026

    You don't need to take your poll card with you.

    If you have a postal vote, you can hand it in at this polling station on election day up to 10pm. When handing in postal votes, you will need to complete a form, giving your name, address, how many postal votes you are handing in, and why you are handing in those postal votes.

    You do not need your poll card to vote. You must vote at your assigned polling station.

    Ballot papers for the election on 30 July 2026 will not be printed until after None.

    If you are away from home before or shortly after None, and will not return before polling day, your postal vote will not reach you in time for you to use it. In this case, you should consider applying for a proxy vote instead.
