Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) are elected to hold the police to account. They have responsibility for their police force's finance, and can appoint or dismiss the Chief Constable. Once elected, each PCC must produce a Police and Crime Plan, which sets their force's strategic direction.

Shrewsbury Town Council

You will also be able to vote for 1 councillors to sit on Shrewsbury Town Council - Abbey.

Town councils are the first tier of local government, and have a wide range of powers including looking after community buildings, planning, street lighting and allotments. They also have the power to raise money through council tax, known as the ‘precept’. In 2020-2021, Shrewsbury Town Council raised £1,517,035 through the precept.
