he Mayor of Doncaster is elected to lead Doncaster Council. The Mayor chairs the council cabinet, directs the council's strategy, and sets the council budget. The Mayor's decisions can only be overturned by a two-thirds majority of councillors. 15 West Midlands CA The Mayor of the West Midlands helps direct the overall strategy of the seven councils which make up the West Midlands Combined Authority. Working with the leaders of the seven councils, the Mayor has responsibilities in areas such as transport, infrastructure, housing, digital and culture. The Mayor also holds some tax-raising powers.
