This election has no bearing on UK Government.

Full statement

However, it will affect who represents you locally, at Sefton Council.

I have lived in Sudell Ward for the majority of my life. As do my extended family. My children attend local schools. I know Maghull inside and out.

I served as a local Councillor for Maghull Town Council from November 2022 until May 2023. I volunteer locally on a regular basis. I have been productive in the inception process of much needed local council initiatives after I was co-opted, such as the Advice Centre, and voted against raising the precept in our Council Tax. I recognise that times are hard financially for Maghull residents.

I know how local systems and processes work. I am a problem solver. I have a proven track record of successfully addressing issues, whilst giving clear communication and transparency throughout.

Our town population is increasing at an alarming rate with the current new builds. We lack the fundamental infrastructure to accommodate the basic needs of our town, and this is due to Sefton trying to recoup missing funding from the UK Government but using quick fixes without really considering the long term impact. Developers have paid generous contributions to Sefton Council.

Plans to put infrastructure in place, takes time. However, it's taking too long. Access to local services with GP's, Dentists, and being able to obtain places in the schools you wish your children to attend, are becoming more and more difficult.

There is no balance at Sefton Council. As it is Labour controlled, sometimes they don't always act in the residents best interests to maintain party unity.

That's wrong.

I will be a strong, unbiased voice for you all. Not being restricted by party politics, I can represent you all fairly.

I pledge to you:

I will be visible and accountable to the people I represent.

I will be visibly active in our community all year round, supporting all projects that contribute social value for all ages.

I will fight to make sure Developer contributions held by Sefton, are spent to address the rising population, and support the campaign for a new Health Centre.

I will address the Highways Plan that potentially excludes roads in Sudell, that are in desperate need of repair.

As a resident myself who pays Council Tax for the area I wish to represent. I want to see real value for my money.

And your money too!

Again this Election has 0% bearing on who represents us at UK Government level.

You have a choice. Vote for a Local voice.

Please lend me your vote. Vote Joanne McCall for Sudell Ward on 2nd May 2024.

I work for you.
