I am currently a student at Cardiff University, studying International Relations and Politics, and I have called this borough home since 2016.

My main priority will be to address the unacceptable levels of sewage discharged into Chichester Harbour an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Last year, there were over 29,000 sewage discharges by Southern Water. This is causing environmental damage and creating potential health issues to all harbour stakeholders. If elected to council, I will push for a fully funded live pollution information system by Southern Water, similar to one in place only a few miles away in Southsea. This will be a first step in the water company taking responsibility for its actions that affect harbour users in our ward.

I will also call for an appropriate and affordable housing strategy. New housing developments must have the proper transport infrastructure to support increased volumes of traffic, something many residents have told our local Lib Dem team is a main concern. These plans should be environmentally sound with solar power and energy saving a fundamental base for the design of any and all new housing projects.

Finally, I will represent young people both in our ward and across the borough. The average age of a councilor in the UK is 60 years old. Young people need to have a voice at local government and as a young Liberal Democrat and want to add my generations perspective to the decisions for our local area.
