Rick Lovering's policies
Statement to voters
I have lived in Fishponds since 1985 and was a teacher of mathematics at a secondary school in Yate until I retired three years ago.
Full statement
I was a teachers’ union representative for most of the 33 years that I worked there, am a keen cyclist and used to commute the nine miles each way to Yate throughout the year.
I live close to the Bristol to Bath Railway Path and would like to maintain and improve this key facility for travel and recreation, and have helped with litter picks with Sustrans and also another local community litter pick group. I am also a volunteer member of the Council’s snow patrol group and clear the access paths to the railway path around Parnall Road and Fishponds library area. I would like to see an improvement in transport links around Hillfields and make it safer to walk and cycle along Lodge Causeway. I enjoy finding out about the history of the area and was a long term member of Fishponds Local History Society until it folded. I am also fascinated by family history and have been writing a book about the mysteries in my own family.
This statement was added by Rick Lovering, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
