In 2023, Sarah was elected as a Tewkesbury Borough Councillor for the Innsworth Ward, which covers a large area of the Highnam county council division.
As a borough councillor Sarah has been a strong voice for the community she represents. Sarah has campaigned for stronger flood resilience in the area and helped to implement a stronger community response following the Storm Henk floods in 2024.
Sarah is a carer for her husband who is severely sight impaired and recognises how important it is that every member of the community is represented along with the need for better management of both child and adult social care in the county.
As well as being a borough councillor, Sarah is a volunteer health champion for the Churchdown Surgery and volunteers at local groups including the Innsworth chatty cafe.
As the chair of the communities committee at Churchdown parish council, Sarah has organised events for the community including a free Santas grotto event that ensured 130 children were able to take part without a cost to their families.
The opportunity to represent the Highnam division at the county council would ensure that Sarah is able to represent the community more effectively connecting the services that both the borough and county councils deliver.
