Statement to voters

Dear Resident, My name is Tony Trilsbach and I am running in the forthcoming Ashford Borough by- election as your Reform UK candidate for Rolvenden and Tenterden West.

Full statement

I want to
quickly introduce myself and hope to secure your vote for Reform UK.
I have lived in Ashford and some of its surrounding villages for 35 years. I also have a
specific affection for the area as a volunteer tour guide for the Kent and East Sussex
Railway, which runs through the heart of the ward. I spend several hours each week
talking about the area’s history, quirks and attractions to visitors and locals alike.
In my career, I spent more than 20 years employed by Kent County Council as head of
land use and intelligence. Through this, I was engaged in overseeing most of the key
changes which affected Ashford and the Weald. This generated considerable
awareness of both the successes and tensions that local government decisions can
create.
Another key skill is an ability to influence and negotiate at the highest levels. I have a
Doctorate in Geography and spent many years teaching and lecturing at leading
universities, especially Durham. I worked on several projects on behalf of the UN which
required meeting and influencing heads of state and the leaders of major global
corporations. The skills and tact required to deliver is a readily transferrable skill and is
essential for a successful political role.
Our country now needs change which I believe can only be delivered by Reform UK and
its policies. Whilst issues on immigration, taxation and economic growth are beyond the
remit of the local council, the principles of fairness, efficiency, common sense and wise
budget management need to be implemented. If elected I will work with these
principles in mind to improve the decisions which affect Rolvenden and Tenterden West
and to fight for its interests at the Borough level at every opportunity.
Finally, if you are voting in person, please remember to bring your Photo ID to the polling
station on the September 25th to enable you to cast your vote.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Trilsbach
