Statement to voters

I’m standing as an independent candidate for Essex County Council because I believe local elections should be about getting things done, not party politics.

Full statement

I live and work in the area, and like many residents I see the same issues every day.

My focus is simple: fix the basics and represent the area properly.

That means:

🛣️ Improving roads, pavements and drainage
💡 Fixing street lighting and local infrastructure
🚌 Supporting better, more reliable public transport
🏫 Improving SEND provision and support for families
🌿 Protecting green spaces and making better use of brownfield land

I’m not part of any political party, so I won’t be taking instructions or voting along party lines. My only focus will be what is best for Brightlingsea, Alresford, Great Bentley, Elmstead Market and Thorrington.

I’ve spent years getting stuck into local issues, from setting up Community Speedwatch and traffic monitoring, to organising volunteer groups to clear footpaths and improve access.

If elected, I will:

Be visible and accessible
Take responsibility for issues and follow them through
Challenge where needed and work with others where it gets results

This election is about who will actually represent the area and get things sorted.

If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d really appreciate your support.
