Statement to voters
Why I’m Standing for Rochester East & Warren Wood.
Full statement
Our beautiful and historic town deserves better leadership. The established parties have failed us, and it’s time for a change. I’m running as your Heritage Party candidate to bring fresh, resident-led perspectives to the council.
Key Issues: 1. Climate Emergency – Where’s the Proof?
No Evidence Provided: The council declared a climate emergency in 2019 but failed to justify it with independent scientific evidence. Statistical Facts: CO₂ = 0.04% of the atmosphere. UK = <1% of global emissions. Medway’s share = 0.00000415%—statistically negligible. Result: Medway’s climate policies hurt residents with rising energy costs, parking hikes (85% increase), and restrictions on car use.
2. Housing Emergency – Fact or Fiction?
No Data to Justify Claims: The council has failed to provide evidence of an actual housing emergency. What’s Happening Instead? Approval of mass developments benefits developers, not residents. Council members in planning committees receive private bonuses for approving units—undisclosed to the public. Link below
3. Immigration and Local Impact:
• Uncontrolled Immigration: The government’s policies force councils to prioritise housing for migrants over local families. Strain on Resources: Medway’s schools, healthcare, and public services are at breaking point, while local taxpayers foot the bill.
4. Protecting Freedoms:
Say NO to: Net Zero economic madness. Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs). Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ). 15-minute city developments like Chatham Pentagon. Action Needed: Stop these policies that undermine freedoms and drive-up costs for hardworking residents.
5. Protecting Our Children:
Education Concerns: UN’s Comprehensive Sexuality Education is confusing and inappropriate for young children. Gender ideology lessons undermine family values and encourage unsuitable experimentation. Proposed changes to the Education Act could further erode parental rights in schools. Heritage Party Will Act: We’ll challenge this from within the system to ensure Medway’s children are protected. Why Vote for Me? I’m not a career politician—I’m a resident like you, ready to stand up for our community’s values, freedoms, and future. Together, we can make Medway a place where common sense prevails and our voices are truly heard.
