Statement to voters
Non-aligned candidate for the Freedom Movement: bodily sovereignty; compassionate community; cooperative activism; individual rights; no more bankers’ wars; let’s make Scotland brave again! Debates over the existence and source of climate change are missing the point: pollution from plastics, sewage and fumes is non-controversial.
Let’s reuse, recycle, creatively upcycle, and clean up our parks and recreation grounds to make them attractive and safe for all—prioritising removal of broken glass and provision of regularly emptied bins.
My “Switch Off Breathe Easy” poster campaign calls on drivers to stop idling their engines—especially outside shops, schools and nurseries—to let toddlers in pushchairs and dogs tied to lampposts breathe clean air! Potholes are every driver’s nightmare and tarmac freeze-thaw drill & fill just isn’t working. Let’s look at more creative solutions like hempcrete, a natural and underused commodity.
Housing is a huge concern in Hillhead. The City Council has to listen to landlords and tenants together. Supporting extended family living and repurposing vacant business premises are only two of many innovative solutions to this perennial problem.
Recent enquiries have underlined the need for transparency in public office. The “brown envelope” bribe culture has got to end, with tendering for contracts that’s fair and square.
Finally, we’re all different and that’s cool. Let’s make sure that our individual or group expression and enjoyment of freedom respects that of others—so everyone, no matter who they are, can get along together!
