I have a wide ranging background in Criminal Justice, Social Care and Housing. I was Head of Strategic Commissioning for the Police and Crime Commissioner in Hampshire. Before that I was Director of Commissioning for Adult Services Hampshire.
I am now a Consultant on Criminal Justice and Substance Misuse services in South London and HMP Wandsworth and other prisons. Also I am an Independent Chair of Children’s Services Complaints panels for six South West Authorities.
I set up the first Hampshire and Isle of Wight Anti Social Behaviour Task Force to build local partnerships and address local concerns, and among the countries first Violence Reduction Units
I was seconded to central government to set up a National Housing and Support programme valued in 2003 at £1.8 Billion
I received a National Audit Commission Award presented by the MInister for Housing for an excellent Housing AND Support service with excellent prospects for improvement.
Living in Amesbury I decided to get involved with the local council and became Mayor Of Amesbury after only 14 months as a local councillor, elected unanimously by Councillors of all political parties and Independents.
I have focused my Mayorship on building partnerships that have results in a range of town centre events, Funfairs, Big Christmas Lights Switch On and a wonderful Fireworks Night Display. And there is much more to come.
As Mayor I have modernised the council, overseen a staffing restructure and a financial reordering to make the Council fit to properly represent the area and its growing population.
I have set up a working group and secured funding for the purchase of MoD land to prepare for the development of exciting new sports facilities for the town
As Mayor set up a partnership with English Heritage, Stonehenge, Amesbury History Centre and the National Trust to boost visitors to Amesbury helping to revitalise the High Street.
I live in Amesbury and am committed to the future of this unique town and its remarkable history.
