Statement to voters
My wife and I moved to Wokingham in 2023 in order to be closer to our son and his family.
Full statement
We have found people to be very friendly to newcomers. We are enjoying the open spaces, the bird watching and our plot at the allotments.
Until I retired I worked as a transport specialist for one of the “big four” accountancy practices. In the later stages of my career I was elected as a councillor in one of the London boroughs and eventually became the lead councillor for education and children’s services. I think I can bring to the Council my understanding of the issues facing schools and services protecting vulnerable children. I served as a primary school governor for more than 30 years. As a governor I promoted the expansion of school places to meet growing demand, and also the expansion of services for children with special educational needs.
