S Uddin, and I will be your local Independent candidate for the Bowling & Barkerend Ward in May 2024, and amongst others, I will be one of the youngest ones in history to do so.

Politics runs amongst us all, and we will face it at one point in our lives. Whether you’re calling the council asking why your bins haven’t been collected, to fighting for justice and a permanent ceasefire in Palestine; we are all involved in Politics.

Many of us are now left feeling abandoned, confused, and upset. Maybe also thinking, now who do I vote for in these next elections?

Bradford, It’s time to take back control.

Born & bred in Bradford, I’ve grown up going to public schools, working in the local area and living my entire life surrounded by the people of Bradford. Instead of waiting for change, I decided I am going to try make that change myself.

What I believe in is straight forward. I believe our politicians should have integrity; they should not be controlled by their party leader and will say how it is, they should represent their constituents FIRST.

I believe in a better Bradford. We are one of the youngest cities in Europe. Maybe with us today, we have the generation of tomorrow, that will lead this country, work for this country and do big things for this country. We must take steps to ensure that our younger generations receive the safe & stable environment they deserve, the Youth Work department in our current council is absolutely shocking. £12 million spent on a cycle lane project from Sunbridge Road to Cemetary Road junction. Some of our kids today do not know whether they will have dinner tonight, the children in Palestine do not know whether they will live to see another day, but the Council has £12 million ready for a two-wheel adventure around town. This is not rejuvenation, this is incompetence.

Finally, No False Promises. On top of integrity, it is important we have a politician who makes no false promises. I will prioritise my constituents, politicians must uphold their duty to represent their voters. Transparency is key to maintaining a good relationship with people, the reason why the people are becoming disconnected from politics is because of the lack of faith in our politicians, they are tired of knowing that every election they vote in, there will be no change.

So Bradford, I will say this again. It’s time to vote for change.
