Having grown up in Chalford, and lived in the Stroud District almost all my life, I will fight for our corner of the district at Ebley Mill.

With the rises in the cost of living, and the rents and house prices in our district rendering it unaffordable to those many of those living here, only Labour offers a path forward to bring our district the affordable, good quality, and environmentally-friendly housing we so desperately need.

In Chalford, we've seen lost so many services, and community hubs. We need a concerted effort from national, county and district authorities to bring our community assets into community ownership. A Community Right to Buy introduced by a Labour government is the only sustainable solution to the losses of our community assets, the sticking plaster solutions proposed by the Greens and Tories have failed time and again.

As a young person running for election, I'm all too aware the average age at Ebley Mill is over double mine. Young people need solid representation at District level to ensure we are providing adequate services for our youth, and meeting the needs of our young people: that means tackling our climate goals, but also providing affordable housing, secure jobs and stronger support networks. We need more young voices at Ebley Mill to get the job done.
