Statement to voters
For the first time, I will be standing for The Communist Party in the Abbey Ward of the Cambridge City Council Election on the 2nd of May.
Full statement
I have worked in Abbey for over 10 years and it has since become part of my daily life. This is my community.
The policies of the ultra-wealthy are being imposed upon us from the top down. These policies seek to enrich the developers whilst riding roughshod over local democracy. They are all too often against the interests of residents and workers alike, as evidenced by the proposed congestion charge, or the plans to gentrify parts of Cambridge, such as Ekin Road and East Barnwell.
A vote for me is a vote to build a united front of progressive and democratic forces to halt in its tracks the march of gentrification as well as advancing the positive demands of working people.
