Statement to voters
My name is Sara Holmes.
Full statement
I am very pleased to have been selected as the Labour Candidate for Brookfield in the local elections on 2nd May 2024. I am standing in place of Councillor Nerys Eaves who is retiring. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve your local community.
I was born in Preston and have lived and worked here nearly all my life. The city has changed hugely over that time. There have been real improvements and yet in these times there is still real hardship. No-one should have to rely on food banks, for example, or be cold in their home, or unable to afford the bus fare to send their children to school. We cannot be a thriving city unless we are all thriving.
Although I have no experience as a Councillor, I have a lot of life experience! I think I am a good listener and if elected I will listen to the issues that affect Brookfield residents and do everything I can to help.
