Statement to voters
My name is James Kendall, and I am the Reform UK candidate for Middleton Park Ward.
Full statement
Over the past two years, I have worked hard to build our grassroots branch from the ground up, focusing on engaging with local residents and strengthening our presence in the community.
In my professional life, I am a manager with extensive leadership experience. Previously, I served as a regional manager for the largest privately owned courier company in the UK, where I was responsible for overseeing operations, managing teams, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
After the last general election, where I stood in Leeds South West and Morley, I made a promise that I would come home and represent my area — and it would be a privilege to do so.
Leeds is an amazing city, and the residents of Middleton and Belle Isle are just as remarkable. We are hardworking and community-focused people. However, in recent years, that sense of community has begun to fade. Local pubs have closed, we have lost our sports centre, and small businesses are struggling, often overshadowed by larger shopping centres.
