Full statement
She moved to Southend when she was 18 where she currently lives with her four cats. Pam is Mother to three grown up children and has a two-year-old Grandson who she provides some childcare for. She also has caring responsibilities for her 84-year-old Father.
Pam’s career started with nine years at the Department of Work and Pensions. Then after a short career break she became a Foster Carer for almost a decade. During this time, she went back to college and got some extra qualifications. Pam returned to work with a charity called Catch 22 where she worked on various projects including Supported Housing for care leavers, an intensive intervention project for troubled families and delivering parenting groups. She also worked as a Family School Liaison Officer in Basildon and a Day Centre Manager in Leigh on Sea. Pam currently works for a charity supporting families with children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities. As a Senior Family Support Adviser she supports families following a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder on the charities helpline and in face-to-face meetings. She represents the charity across the county at different events and meetings.
Pam’s varied experience demonstrates her passion for helping people and this is a passion she would like to bring to supporting and advocating for the residents of Westborough ward if elected.
