Hi I'm Thea and I'm running as an Independent candidate for Stroud Slade ward because I believe that we need a council that represents everybody, not just the interests of the political parties.

I'm being supported in this by the Community Independents network of independent councillors and community leaders that already plays a key role on the district council. Community Independents believe in a politics rooted in kindness and compassion, based on values of common decency and putting the local community first.

My background is as a Mum of four and a teacher, also a member of the Kid's Stuff staff, so I'm very much involved in the work that happens at Brimscombe Mill. I know what it's like trying to get by during a cost-of-living crisis and I'm here to do what I can to help.

I spend a lot of time at the Middle-of-the-Hill community hub and I just want to be able to give something back and be a voice for the community that I love and care for.

If you vote for me to be your district councillor on May 2, I will be a part of the Co-operative Alliance that runs Stroud District Council, making sure that it stays true to its commitments to social justice and to supporting our community hubs.
