The Green Party didn't have a representative in the last round of local elections where I live in Oatlands, so here I am! The major parties have demonstrated on a regular basis at local and national levels that they are nowhere near committed enough to securing the future of our environment for future generations.

We are rapidly running out of green belt, wildlife corridors are continually being narrowed or completely blocked by new housing developments. Local councils simply buckle under pressure from developers in order to meet unachievable housing targets set by the government without exploring proper alternatives to our housing crisis. I strongly believe that voting for Green Party councillors this time round is of huge importance for future generations not just in Oatlands but all over Surrey in order to protect what green belt we have left. We need positive change and we need our councils to start thinking differently right now before it's too late. That's my cue!
